Good morning everyone! I feel like we are racing through this month and I am definitely on a countdown to my summer holidays! I’m so excited at the thought of two weeks in the sunshine. Yes, we had a lovely May, but it’s not quite the same as being on holiday. This week, I’ve a few product reviews for you, some summer reading recommendations, and I’ve been on the search for some new travel essentials. So, let’s dive in.

1. The SURI toothbrush

Never has a toothbrush looked so chic!

As I get older, it’s the little things that bring me the most joy, and, yes, that includes my toothbrush! I’ve been using the SURI toothbrush for the best part of this year and have noticed a big difference in how my teeth look and feel. It’s the first time I’ve used a rechargeable toothbrush (I’m not a gadget person!), but my dentist told me I was brushing too hard and my gums were receding, plus I was missing my back teeth. Heck! Since using SURI, this has noticeably changed - it produces powerful sonic vibrations and was designed by dentists! When I’m on holiday (the battery lasts an impressive 40+ days, so no need to take the charger) I use the travel case, which has a UV-C light that cleans the brush of 99.9% of bacteria in one minute. I dread to think what was lurking on my previous toothbrushes! It’s slim, with an aluminium body, and comes with plant-based heads, which SURI recycle for free. When we redecorated our bathroom a few years ago, one thing that I was never happy about was the mess created by having the toothbrushes on the sink. Now they sit very stylishly on the little magnetic holder; so there’s no mess, it's tidier, and it looks a lot more chic! SURI has kindly given me a discount code ABBOTT, giving you 20% off until 25th of June, redeemable here. (Sponsored placement)

2. Getting a summer glow with a few skin recommendations

I’ve been a fan of Dermatologica products for many years. I think I first used the Daily Microfoliant when I was in my thirties! My daily evening skincare routine always starts with the pre-cleanse. I use the Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 50 every morning and love the Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque, especially when my skin needs a boost. I recently added a new product to my routine - the Dermalogica Age Smart Multi Vitamin Thermafoliant. I’ve been guilty of not exfoliating over winter, and apparently it’s one of the best things you can do to address skin ageing - eek must get on it! Add to that, over the summer my skin can sometimes feel like it needs a deep cleanse - I think the combination of sweat and increased use of SPF can leave it feeling congested and grubby. Step in the Multi Vitamin Thermafoliant to polish off those dead skin cells and encourage cell turnover. I am a convert. It leaves my skin feeling deeply cleansed and smooth without causing any dryness. I have also noticed my serums soak in nicely after using it and it has renewed my glow! So, all in all 10/10 from me! In other skin news, I’ve had a few of you asking about the CurrentBody LED face mask I use. I was kindly gifted the Series 2 version a few months ago and have been making every effort to use it daily. You do need to be consistent to see results, but I’ve noticed my skin is looking fresher, and the fine lines around my eyes are improving. I really hope that, with consistent use, I will see a difference with my brown spots. Oh how I wish I had used more SPF in my youth! I’m thinking about peels or micro-needling once summer is over. Have any of you had any success with these? If you want to invest in the LED mask, I have a 10% discount code MELISSACB, which can be used site wide.
