5 Things Friday - The High Street Edit
A new season and with it lots of gorgeous autumn looks. Here's my top 20 of what to buy this September.
Despite all the finger-crossing it now seems we’re pretty much done with summer in the UK, so roll on my favourite fashion season - I’m ready for autumn. From a rich new colour palette to some new trends, and of course the classics, the high street has a great offering this season so let’s see what’s caught my eye.
#1 My best autumn investment over the last few years, when it comes to price per wear, has been a cashmere crewneck sweater. The high street offerings are great quality and competitively priced; favourites being Uniqlo, Cos and M&S. Olive green is my colour of the season so I couldn’t resist this M&S one.
#2 I feel like these Cos culottes could be the autumn version of the cotton culottes I bought in the summer. They would really work as an autumn staple; great for work wear, dress them up with kitten heel boots for evening or wear casually with trainers at weekends.
#3 Leopard print is everywhere this season, and this New Look fine knit cardi is just the right tone and a great price too.
#4 If you missed out on the M&S leopard print skirt then this H&M one is a good alternative.
#5 I loved this coat last autumn but didn't get so much of a sniff of it last year before it went OOS. Thankfully they’ve bought it back, but I wouldn’t wait around if you love it too. The chocolate colourway is gorgeous.
#6 Burgundy sunnies to match my autumn wardrobe, yes please!
#7 It’s jacket time and this Cos boxy jacket is the perfect layer for that in-between weather before big coat season. I love the colour and length of this one. It would work perfectly with midi skirts or trousers
.
#8 Ganni inspired leopard print buckle flats without the price tag. I’ve heard they are comfortable too!
#9 I saw this checked trench coat at the press day and can confirm it is stunning. The perfect autumn-to-winter coat, and that check will go with all this season's colours.
#10 The clean lines and gold detail of this faux leather bag from H&M make it look way more pricey than it is.
