Kalkan, Turkey - Our Favourite Family Holiday

Way back in 2008, Mr A and I took a week’s holiday to a little resort called Kalkan in Turkey. Neither of us had ever been to Turkey and weren’t sure what to expect, but after what we felt was the loveliest week, we decided to bring our four daughters out the following year. This was the start of what has become a family tradition - which we have done a further 6 times since! Holidaying in the same place is not ever something I’d thought we would do - its a big world out there! However, there is a lot to be said for knowing what you’re getting and being able to enjoy it from the minute you disembark, especially when you’re towing five other people behind you, who expect that you have the full itinerary covered. Kalkan is definitely not for everyone, but for us it combines what we love most about a family holiday; guaranteed sun, crystal blue sea, affordable eating out and direct flights from our local airport. A combination we have yet to find anywhere else. So, if you are looking for a similar experience to ours, you might find the following recommendations and tips useful.
