I’m pretty sure you are aware of the brand, but just in case, I will give you a brief overview. Lookfantastic is Europe’s number one online premium beauty retailer, carrying over 22,000 products. The site is vast, but well organised. It’s worth checking out the offers on some top brands including Elemis, Kérastase and Yves Saint Laurent and it’s always my go to for all the beauty Black Friday deals. So, with summer holidays around the corner, if you’re looking for some inspiration these are my current top buys.
First up, the Radiance Ritual set from Eve Lom. Now this is a brand I’ve heard a lot about but never actually tried. My skin has been playing up recently (thanks to my menopausal hormones), so I was looking for a really effective face mask. One thing I love about the Lookfantastic site is that people give detailed reviews on products - and this Rescue Mask got some rave reviews. It’s multi-award winning and can help with irritable breakouts or be a reviving pick-me-up for tired puffy skin. Yup that’s definitely me! The mask on its own was quite spendy, but this set was an absolute bargain, and perfect for travelling. The cleanser is a lovely balm, which smells a bit weird but left my skin feeling fresh and hydrated, and I’ve yet to use the serum, but the star was the mask. I’ve been searching for one for home use for a while, but often find anti-ageing ones to be very similar and not very effective if you're combining spots and wrinkles (oh the joys). This was perfect and I will definitely be buying again.
I’m a big fan of a salt scrub and this Espa Detoxifying Salt Scrub is fabulous. I love that super clean feeling plus, if you’re feeling a bit below par, then an uplifting scent in your morning shower can make a big difference. If you love a zingy citrus smell, you’re going to love this scrub. Scents of grapefruit, cypress and eucalyptus cleansed, while sweet almond oil nourished and hydrated my post-holiday skin. I always use a scrub to prolong my tan after a holiday, so even though the likelihood is it’s going to fade faster than my holiday washing is done (thanks to good old Blighty weather), at least my skin feels smooth and smells nice!
Can we talk about brows? Firstly, where have mine gone? Yet another thing that ageing has bestowed on me, as they now appear sparser and fainter than ever! I’ve long considered (but so far have chickened out of) having them tattooed, micro-bladed or is it laminated? The list of things you can have done to your eyebrows these days is quite amazing. My eldest recently told me she had over £150 worth of products on hers! Luckily the Benefit Precisely My Brow wax combines colour, shaping and hold all in one handy application - thank you Benefit!
I’m pretty sure it was Caroline Hirons (the skincare expert) who recommended the NIP+FAB Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing pads a while ago. I immediately bought them and loved them. Perfect for travelling, they leave your skin feeling smooth and zingy.
If your post holiday hair is in need of a lift a the Garnier Ultimate Blends Hair Food Banana 3-in-1 Dry Hair Mask is an excellent choice. Lightweight and nourishing, it’s a great affordable hair treatment. Top tip: wash hair and apply mask, wrap hair in a towel and sleep in it. Next morning (and I promise you), silky locks will be yours!
Obviously, we’re all using SPF 50 every day even if we live in deepest Yorkshire and our faces don’t see sunshine for 10 months of the year! I have tried a few facial sun creams and so far this one has been my favourite. It’s the consistency of a moisturiser, which I like, but if you prefer something more lotion-like then the La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 Invisible Fluid Non-Perfumed Suncream may be more suitable.
These of course are just my picks, but there are loads of other brands available in the offer. Don’t forget to add my discount code MELISSALF for that extra 10% off.
Below are just a few of my other faves, if you need further inspiration.
The Elemis Pro Collagen range is excellent and the cleansing balm is probably my no 1 favourite, especially in the rose fragrance. I noticed they have a little try kit available, which is also great for travelling.
If you haven’t tried the Living Proof Advanced dry shampoo then you’re missing out. It really is worth spending a little more on as it’s so effective. Also shout out to the Triple Bond Complex, which I’ve been using since last year - it has protective and nourishing properties and I feel it has made a big difference to the condition of my hair. The Thickening Blow-Dry Cream lasts for ages (you only need a tiny amount). It’s a heat protector and thickening cream all in one.
The Estée Lauder Advanced Night serum is iconic for a reason. Over winter the Revitalizing Supreme + Night intensive night cream really kept my skin feeling hydrated and nourished. I do love a little mini kit and this one has a cute pouch.
Lastly, if you have any issues with skin sensitivity then I can wholeheartedly recommend the Avene range. It’s very competitively priced, and the Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream is the only thing that sorted my peri-oral dermatitis, including strong antibiotics!
And once again, a reminder to use the code MELISSALF for an extra 10% off anything in this link.
Happy shopping!

Thanks Melissa, got myself a few good bargains there! La Roche Posay, Liz Earle and Avene
Happy Easter, I would highly recommend having your eyebrows microbladed. I did a few years ago when my once thick and bushy brows (never overplucked) just seemed to disappear overnight. Now it's just a couple of strokes with a benefit brow pencil (or the gel) and I'm done!
